HADD's mission is to make life better for people affected by ADHD

Tim Lott may have written nine books and won a Whitbread award, but he also suffers from depression, struggles to finish tasks and has a poor track record in relationships. It is only since a doctor diagnosed him with an attention deficit disorder – at the age of 61 – that his life has begun to make sense.

December 2016. I am travelling on the 11.10 to Crewe, where I will change for Liverpool Lime Street. Shortly after I arrive there, in a city of which I know practically nothing, I will at last find out who I am.

PARENTS PLUS/ADHD SPECIFIC PARENTING COURSE

Starting Wednesday 8th November (for six weeks)

A practical and positive course, delivered by a professional team, for parents of children aged 5-12 diagnosed with ADHD. Using ideas and footage from the Parents Plus programme, it offers parents the opportunity to meet and support each other in enhancing their relationship with their child, preventing and dealing with the behavioural difficulties which so often accompany ADHD.

VENUE: Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7 & Macro Centre, North King Street

TIME: 7.00pm - 9.00pm

As many as nine million adults in America have ADHD, and most of them are part of the national workforce. Unfortunately, many of them struggle in their employment roles.

One survey found that 50 percent of adults with ADHD are unable to maintain a full-time job. Even when adults with ADHD do hold down full-time employment, the odds are good they’ll make less than their peers. And they’re still more likely to be fired or rack up absences at work.

Helping kids get organized and control problem behaviours!

Autism / ADHD Sensory Workshop at No Limits Portlaoise on Saturday 18th March from 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Children learn best through hands on learning by using their senses. Seeing, touching, hearing, smelling and tasting are great ways for children to explore their environment and process the world around them. This workshop will discuss how children develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively through sensory play. Caregivers are encouraged to attend with their children.
